Transferring Blog Posts

Transferring blog posts from the Medium to the redpepper.land/blog could be one of the assignments that you are tasked with during your time here.

 

Alyssa or Jesse can log you into the redpepper blog so that you have access to the following steps: 

How To

Step 1: Pull up two tabs on your computer, the Medium article and the WordPress editing version of the rp blog

Step 2: Click "add new" to start to create the blog post

Step 3: Using copy & paste, grab the title from the Medium and place it where it says "Add Title" on WordPress

Step 4: Grab the copy (paragraph by paragraph) from Medium and start adding it to WordPress where it says "Start writing or type / to choose a block"

Step 5: Once you've added all of the copy, move to the sidebar on the right of your screen

Step 6: Check off whichever box applies to the article (Culture, Marketing, Garage, Innovation, etc.) 

Step 7: Add tags, you can add your own or simply go to the bottom of the Medium article to find ones to use

Step 8: Set featured image, save the cover photo from Medium and use the same one for WordPress

Step 9: Excerpt: copy this code

and paste it where it says "excerpt". Change the name of the author - in this case, Alyssa Kalams. Also change the sentence at the end of the code to be the sub-header that was in the article.
